AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam is one of the greatest small cities in the world. From Amsterdam canals to world-famous Amsterdam museums and historical Amsterdam sights, it is one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. You can do canal cruises over the rivers which is a populair way to explore the city and see it from a different perspective. Amsterdam is a very tolerant city with a multicultural population. The city has a lot of advantages: great nightlife and clubs, good transport and public services, international and local restaurants and has overall very little traffic which makes it pleasant to walk around. Everything in the city is nearby and can be reached by walking or renting a cheap bike to get that authentic local experience.

Monuments
Amsterdam has a city centre with a lot of history. There are several impressive monuments scattered throughout the hart of the city, in the following list you will find the most important ones which you have to visit before you leave the city!
The National Monument on Dam Square
The National Monument on Dam Square is a memorial for the commemoration of the World War II. The monument is central to the annual National Remembrance Day (May 4).
Between the Amstel and the Herengracht you will find an iconic spot named the Rembrandtplein. On this square you can enjoy a drink while watching a beautiful statue of the famous painter Rembrandt Harmensz. Van Rijn.
Next to the Westerkerk church, an impressive monument called the Homomonument is located. This monument commemorates homosexuality including men, women and members of the LGBT community.
This monument can be found on the oldest park of Amsterdam, the Wertheimpark. It is a memorial of those who served in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Anne Frank and her family had to hide from the Nazis during the World War II in a small space in an apartment at the time. At one point they were discovered and sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Anne wrote a part of her life in a diary which was found later and published for the world to read.

Restaurants
The Netherlands has a food culture that differs from many other cultures.
This is partly due to the rather specific way of eating and the fact that most of the time the first two meals (out of three) of the day consist of bread.
Yet Amsterdam is rich in various delicious cuisines and goes further than only bread and cheese. In addition to the popular French bistro, pizzeria or Chinese, you can discover so many other interesting meals. There is also plenty to choose from for so many star restaurants in the city for lovers of haute cuisine. Whether you are looking for a chic restaurant or a cozy pizzeria; there are plenty of choices in Amsterdam that will satisfy your appetite.

Activities
Amsterdam offers a range of activities for everyone of all ages. Wether you’re with family, friends or by yourself.

A plan according a local
According with our experience in the next section T-Pal recommend you a perfect plan to know as much as possible about Amsterdam and enjoy your travel there without struggles.

"The perfect plan"
Amsterdam isn’t a very big city that is why you can see a lot of it in a short period of time. I made a little list with places i believe you need to visit when you are in Amsterdam.
Let’s start off with a beautiful canal cruise through the hart of the city, this is in my opinion the best way to see the buildings and experience the atmosphere. After this i would say have a walk and go to Dam square to make pictures and have lunch. Around the corner of Dam square there is the flower market, this is in a vibrant neighbourhood with beautiful buildings and activities. Next are the musea, there are several populair and amazing musea to visit, you can choose between the ones listed above, my personal favourite is the Anne Frank house. In the evening it is lovely to stroll around the nine streets and the neighbourhood Jordaan where you can find lots of restaurants where you can have a proper dinner.
In the late evening i would say visit the red light district, which is something Amsterdam is famous for. Enjoy the city!
